State of the Industry: Global & European Market Trends in Business Aviation

At EBACE25, against the backdrop of ongoing geopolitical shifts and economic uncertainty, industry leaders came together to assess the current landscape of the pre-owned business aviation market in EMEA. The conversation focused on growth opportunities, buyer behavior, and the factors shaping our path forward.

Market snapshot and evolving opportunities in Europe

In a region navigating complex regulatory and political environments, agility remains essential. EMEA now accounts for 9% of all global pre-owned aircraft transactions, reaffirming its position as the second most active region after the Americas.

European clients are increasingly looking beyond regional boundaries. As business becomes more global, demand is growing for long-range, large-cabin aircraft such as the Bombardier Global 7500 and Gulfstream G650 — and these large jets now represent 20% of Jetcraft’s global transactions.

This trend is not limited to corporate buyers. A rising generation of ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNWI) is helping to reshape the market. The share of our buyers under 45 has nearly doubled in the past decade, now reaching 29 percent. These younger clients recognize the strategic value of business aviation, prioritizing efficiency, privacy and productivity as essential tools for both business and lifestyle.

The challenges facing the sector

Nearly new aircraft in the pre-owned market are in hot demand, such as the Embraer Phenom 300E, Gulfstream G650ER / G700 and Bombardier Global 7500, especially in cases where a new delivery from the OEM may take up to three years. This supply imbalance is placing upward pressure on values and making it more important than ever for buyers to work with specialists who can access in-demand models through global networks.

However, the current challenge concerns the lack of clarity around tariffs, with news changing weekly. This is causing some uncertainty in the market, resulting in a temporary delay in transactions and a reduction in the pool of aircraft under consideration. For US buyers, who make up nearly 70% of global demand, aircraft located or manufactured abroad are quickly becoming secondary options. That shift alone could drive up competition and pricing for US-based or manufactured inventory.

Throughout these shifts, we’re staying connected across our global teams and sharing insights in real time to help our clients adapt with confidence.

A snapshot of European business aviation in 2030

Discussion during the show often turned to the five-year forecast for European business aviation, where we expect the EMEA region to hold its position as a key transaction hub, with demand increasing in parallel with generational wealth transfer and infrastructure expansion. Despite short-term challenges, the long-term outlook remains strong, as business aviation is resilient.

We also anticipate that the preference for large-cabin aircraft will persist. Jetcraft’s Ever Forward 2025 report forecasts 11,202 pre-owned transactions over the next five years, generating more than $73.9 billion in revenue, pointing to renewed confidence and a maturing market.

We believe that forming long-term relationships with clients will enable this continued growth of the industry. Offering transparent, honest and usable advice to clients builds trust, ensuring a strong relationship that will continue long past the first sale.
