Product Overview

The Gulfstream G550 is a large-cabin, ultra long-range business jet traveling at ranges in excess of 6,700 nm. It features up to four distinct living areas, three temperature zones, and a choice of 12 floor-plan configurations with seating for up to 19 passengers. The G550 is equipped with the Gulfstream PlaneView cockpit, based on the Honeywell Primus Epic architecture and display system. The PlaneView cockpit presents critical flight information on 14-inch (36 cm) liquid crystal displays arranged for easy interpretation. The latest in Head-Up Display technology integrated with the next-generation Gulfstream Enhanced Vision System (EVS) II. The aircraft is also equipped with commercial and military communications equipment to provide secure voice and data capability.

As of March 2024, 6.7% of Gulfstream G550 aircraft are currently for sale with the majority (65%) under an exclusive broker agreement. When for sale, the average time on the market is 161 days.

Brief History

The G550 is a business jet produced by Gulfstream aerospace and is part of the Gulfstream V family. Known for its long-range capabilities, luxurious interior, and advanced avionics, the G550 has become a popular choice for business and private aviation. The aircraft was first introduced in 2003 and later began production that same year. It’s a successor to the Gulfstream IV and has undergone various upgrades over the years to enhance performance and efficiency. The first G550 was delivered in 2003. Production of this aircraft later ceased in 2021.

Worldwide appeal 

There are 617 G550 business jets in operation worldwide. The majority of those are wholly owned with 0.17% in fractional ownership. 1 jet is currently leased.  North America has the largest percentage of wholly owned Gulfstream G550 aircraft with 64%, followed by Asia with 9.5%.



The Gulfstream G550 is powered by two Rolls-Royce BR 710-C4-11 engines each offering 15,385 lbs of thrust and using a combined 377 gallons per hour (GPH). The range of the G550 is 6,708 nm operating under NBAA IFR 8 passengers with available fuel.


The cabin volume for the Gulfstream G550 is 1,812 cubic feet. Typical configuration features 16 passengers and 4 crew seats, this can vary based on the specific interior configuration chosen by the owner or operator. It boasts a lavish interior, divided into up to 4 sections including private staterooms, conference areas, and entertainment zones. The typical cabin dimensions are approximately 50.1 feet (15.27 m) in length, 6.2 feet (1.86 m) in height, and 7.3 feet (2.23 m) in width.
