We are nearing the end of the year, which is a good time to look back on accomplishments and significant developments. This year marked another milestone in Jetcraft’s continued global expansion through the appointment of Danie Joubert as Vice President, Sales. Based in Johannesburg, Joubert represents Jetcraft in Africa, where he is responsible for all sales activities in the region.

At the AsBAA Icons of Aviation Awards Charity Gala Dinner on November 10, Jetcraft Asia was bestowed the Best Aircraft Sales Broker award for 2017, making it an unbelievable three years in a row. Presented by the Asian Business Aviation Association (AsBAA), the annual awards are voted on by industry members.

“It is a great honor to receive the prestigious award from AsBAA with the recognition from members and our industry peers in the field of aircraft sales and acquisitions worldwide,” said Jetcraft Asia President, David Dixon. “We do not plan to rest on our laurels. I joined Jetcraft towards the end of May 2017, so I have been with Jetcraft for a little over a year.

What are your responsibilities within the global Jetcraft team?

I am primarily responsible for Aircraft Sales in Africa.

Describe a typical day or week in your role.

My days are never the same. While pursuing sales leads, I am very focused on establishing Jetcraft as a primary, ‘go-to’ entity for potential buyers or sellers of Aircraft in my region. I am regularly reaching out to the African customer base and emphasizing the different value added perspectives and services that the Jetcraft team can bring to a buyer or seller. I spend a lot of time making introductions, prospecting for new customers and educating the market and trust this awareness campaign will bring them to our doors when they actually have a need.

Product Overview

The Global 6000 is the fourth and latest business jet aircraft model built by Bombardier to compete in the new ultra-long range large-cabin market. The Global 6000 has a large spacious cabin in excess of 2,000 cubic feet and can travel non-stop over 6,100 nm. The ultra-long range market is defined as a new group of large cabin business jets that can fly 6,000 nm or greater distance.

As of July 2017, 91% of the Global 6000 aircraft were purchased new by their current owners, the other 9% pre-owned. 4.7% are for sale with the majority of those (73%) under an exclusive broker agreement. When for sale, the average time on the market is 236 days.

Brief History

The Global 6000, which started delivering to customers in 2012, traces its roots to the Global Express XRS, which was the third ultra long-range large-cabin business jet, produced. A total of 280 Global 6000 aircraft have been manufactured with 241 in operation, 5 in production, and 24 at the manufacturer.

Two new aircraft will follow the Global 6000. They are the Global 7000 and Global 8000 ultra-long-range large cabin business jets.

Worldwide Appeal

There are 241 Global 6000 aircraft in operation today. Most of these are wholly owned (220) with 2 in shared and 19 in fractional ownership. 8% are currently leased. North America has the largest percentage of wholly owned Global 6000 aircraft (36%), followed by Europe (40%), and Asia (18%).

How long have you been at your current organization?

I founded the company in 1998 so ACI Jet has been around for 19 years and I was there at the start.

What are your responsibilities within your organization?

I am the President and CEO. My main focus is to ensure that we are providing integrity, professionalism, and top notch customer service and overall excellence in all phases of operations.

Describe a typical day or week in your role.

I spend most of my week at our headquarters in San Luis Obispo working with the leaders of each of ACI’s Business Units (Flight Operations, Maintenance, and FBOs). I also spend 1-2 days each week at our new FBO Facility in Orange County at John Wayne Airport.

Product Overview

The large-cabin Falcon 900LX is the latest in the Falcon 900 series. This newest model offers an improved range and less fuel consumption than its predecessor, the Falcon 900EX. The addition of winglets designed by Aviation Partners reduces drag and thereby cuts fuel burn by 5% to 7% while also reducing time to climb as compared to the Falcon 900EX.

As of August 2017, 22% of the Falcon 900LX were purchased pre-owned by their current owners, the other 78% new. 13.6% are for sale with half of those (50%) under an exclusive broker agreement. When for sale, the average time on the market is 401 days.

Brief History

The Falcon 900LX is the seventh Falcon 900 series model built and was introduced as a performance enhanced version of the Falcon 900EX, receiving certification from the FAA and EASA in July 2010. A total of 61 Falcon 900LX aircraft have been manufactured with 59 in operation worldwide.

There are 59 Falcon 900LX aircraft in operation today. All of these are wholly owned (59). 18.6% of the 59 are currently leased. North America has the largest percentage (55%), followed by Europe (27%) and Asia (16%).

Ten-year projection points to new business cycle, improved absorption rates of pre-owned aircraft and predicts the trend for widebody aircraft will continue

October 4, 2017 (Raleigh, NC) – Jetcraft, the leader in business aircraft sales, marketing and ownership strategies, today released its third annual 10-year business aviation market forecast. The global business aviation installed base of just more than 21,000 aircraft will surpass the 28,000 unit mark (net retirements) in 2026, growing 33% during the forecast period.

Jetcraft’s 2017 forecast calls for 8,349 unit deliveries representing $252 billion in revenues (based on 2017 pricing) to be realized by 2026. North America will again lead the way with 62% (5,176 units) marketshare of unit deliveries, followed by Europe with 17% and Asia with 12% (1,420 units and 1,002 units, respectively).

“Pinpointing the transition into a new business cycle is challenging,” said Jetcraft’s Chairman Jahid Fazal-Karim. “Our forecast indicates we are finally exiting the post-2008 recession period, entering several years of steadier, healthier growth and expanding revenues. This new business cycle should shape our industry for years to come.”
