International, Personal, and Always Ready to Deal

International, Personal, and Always Ready to Deal

Jetcraft was featured in issue 02 | 2014 of Outlook Magazine by Jet Aviation. The article includes information and interviews...

"Jetcraft’s business is based on personal relationships and trust. Company president Chad Anderson says a lot of what they do involves “expectation management.” Anderson says people tend to think the aircraft sale and purchase process will be easier than it is. Sometimes expectations are not realistic in terms of how quickly the process should happen, and sometimes they can be thwarted by unforeseen circumstances. “We help them deal with surprises,” Anderson says. “This could come from a crew misbehaving on a demo flight, where you need to replace the crew at the last moment, or a rogue mechanic making bad statements about an aircraft that are not necessarily fact.”

... along with an overview of the company's history.

"Oliver turned the flight school he had acquired into an aviation academy, provided the first 24-hour maintenance center on the E...

Growing Economy and Business Needs Helping Spur Private Ownership in Latin America

Growing Economy and Business Needs Helping Spur Private Ownership in Latin America

Written by Fabrice Roger, former Jetcraft Sales Director, Latin America

A few months ago, the business aviation industry gathered in Sao Paulo, Brazil for the 11th annual Latin American Business Aviation Conference and Exhibition (LABACE) show. The fact that over 15,000 attendees (a new record) gathered at LABACE in itself speaks to the acceptance of private jet ownership across Latin America.  This is especially true in Brazil which is the economic powerhouse of the region and the biggest market in terms of business aviation in Latin America. It has the world’s second largest private fleet and represents over 5 percent of the global market for business aviation.

But other nations in the region are also showing solid growth rates. For example, business aircraft ownership increased by 10 percent in Columbia from 2012-2013. Mexico has also posted impressive gains over the same time period. Some analysts even predict that over the next five years demand for business aircraft in L...

Destination Orlando, Florida – Disney and Beyond

Destination Orlando, Florida – Disney and Beyond

Destination Orlando, Florida—Disney, First Class!

Despite its plethora of golf courses and pristine winter sunshine, Orlando perhaps most readily evokes Disneyworld to travelers from Dallas to Dublin to Dubai. So a trip to this year-round destination naturally should be planned for the kids in your house, or for the kid in your heart!

Orlando for you

Today’s Orlando is not just for the kids. Downtown Disney itself is a destination for waterside strolls, restaurants, and shopping. A highlight of this area, which typically is alive with visitors, is Cirque du Soleil La Nouba. Since Cirque performs year-round in a dedicated theater in Downtown Disney, La Nouba is well worth seeing. The integrated trampoline tower and tracks make for some amazing acrobatics in addition to the trapeze, rope walking, and ribbon artists. Plan for dinner before the show at the delicious Wolfgang Puck Grand Café where you can get some unique fusion of Asian and Californian cuisine. There is also F...

Surface Movement Guidance Control

Surface Movement Guidance Control

AvBuyer Magazine, October 2014

by Ken Elliott

Download a PDF of the article.

Situational awareness for pilots and air traffic control (ATC) is critical both in the air and on the ground. Ground awareness extends to all users of airport movement areas as well as to ATC. It is also not just about safety and traffic avoidance, however. For a singular aircraft, taxiing around an unfamiliar airport can become very challenging at night and during low visibility.

Situational awareness is critical in all phases of flight (that means from ramp-toramp), but it typically increases in and around airports and Metroplexes. For the purpose of this article the focus is on both low visibility operations and surface movement; the portion of a flight from the ramp until after take-off and again from the visual transition point of an approach procedure until parked at the ramp destination.

Historically, air navigation service providers (ANSPs) and flight crews have visually scanned surface op...

Building the world’s biggest brokerage

Building the world’s biggest brokerage

Jetcraft was featured in the Autumn 2014 issue of Executive & VIP Aviation International magazine. The article is below.

Jetcraft Co-Owner Jahid Fazal-Karim talks to Anthony Harrington

When Jahid Fazal-Karim joined Jetcraft six years ago, the vision was to make the company the biggest jet brokerage in the world. “That was our goal and our objective was always to be the best at what we do. We wanted to create a structure that would get us close to our clients and bring our clients closer to us,” Fazal-Karim told EVA.

To help build that closeness, six years ago Jetcraft set out to build a truly global organisation, one with a geographic spread of sales teams and offi ces capable of placing the company in the time zones of its far-flung client base. “Being close to the time zones of our clients means that our Chinese clients can phone our Hong Kong office, the Russian clients have our Russian office and we have a sales structure based out of Miami with Spanish speakers for ...

Why You Need an Aircraft Broker – And How to Choose the Right One

Why You Need an Aircraft Broker – And How to Choose the Right One

According to the National Aircraft Resale Association (NARA), 14 percent of private jet owners do not use a broker to handle the buying and selling of their aircraft. Many feel they know their aircraft needs better than others and – perhaps more importantly – can save some money by going it alone.

But people who do this are making a big mistake. The buying and selling of aircraft can be more complicated than it seems. Those who do not use a qualified broker are taking a risk as many things can go wrong with a transaction. Ironically, they often end up paying more - sometimes quite a bit more – for their aircraft than it is really worth.

“For an ownership experience to be positive it requires planning, effort and communication,” said Scott Plumb, Senior Vice President of Sales for Jetcraft.  “I have watched buyers purchase the wrong airplane because they were consulted by a friend rather than a professional. They then end up with an aircraft that may not be the best f...
