Q&A with Jack Lau

Jack Lau, Sales Engineer, Jetcraft

How long have you been at Jetcraft?

I have been with Jetcraft since March 2018, so it has been over 3 and half years now.

What are your responsibilities within the global Jetcraft team?

I primarily support David Dixon and Joanna Kwong as their Sales Engineer in our Hong Kong office by generating specs, aircraft valuation analysis, coordinating with the marketing team, viewing aircraft, reviewing records, or creating thoughtful presentations for them to use. I do all we can to support my Sales Directors in helping them complete more transactions.

Describe a typical day or week in your role.

There is no typical day or week! Some days I am in my office replying to e-mails, valuing aircraft, or generating specs. Some days I am hopping from hangar to hangar reviewing aircraft conditions, reviewing records, and tracking PPIs.

What do you love most about your job?

I really enjoy the different challenges daily. No task is the same, no day is the same, no aircraft is the same, and no client is the same.

Describe the company culture at Jetcraft and what it means to you?

Jetcraft is not just a company, Jetcraft is family! We all work very hard through different time zones throughout the day, but we always find time to care for each other.

What do you want your customers to experience when dealing with Jetcraft?

I want a seamless and painless experience for our customers in their transaction, we want to resolve any and every issue that may come up and exceed their expectation in closing the deals.

Who or what has been your greatest professional influence?

Professor K. Kennedy back in college taught me to aim high, don’t aim low. It reminds me to never stop learning, growing and be a better self both professionally and personally.

Describe yourself in 3 words.

Loyal, Dedicated, Motivated.

If you were to buy a business jet, which aircraft would suit your needs and why?

I would choose a Gulfstream G650ER. It provides the range needed from Hong Kong to New York where most of my family reside.

What stands out to you as good customer service?

Good customer service is listening to what the clients really want, understanding their needs, and building a long and trusting relationships with them.

Finally, what is your hidden talent or hobby?

I enjoy getting on a boat with friends, feel the sea breeze for a relaxing day!
