EBACE Day 2 Summary – May 21

EBACE Day 2 Summary – May 21

It has been another great day at the show and our team has been kept very busy. It is clear to see that visitor numbers are high today both out on the static with the aircraft and throughout the exhibition halls.

Today we have had a lot of media attention and it has been great to be able to share our experience and expertise with the market. Both Chad and Jahid have been in demand and spending time with the journalists to talk about the pre owned market across the different regions. We look forward to reading some great articles in the coming days!

The featured photo above is Jahid chatting to the editorial team at Altitudes and Invictus magazines.

EBACE Day 1 Summary – May 20

EBACE Day 1 Summary – May 20

Positive Vibes

Day one of EBACE 2014 is in the books and it’s been a positive and productive start to the show. That's not just our opinion either, as we’ve been speaking with media members and others in the industry who also believe things are looking up. You can sense a vibe in the air that is strikingly upbeat!

Our European team is excited to be on their home turf, along with our executive team of Chad, Jahid and Peter. From our European offices we have Pascal Bachmann, Chris Hollingsworth, Guillaume Chamoin and Andrew Hoy, all in attendance. Also here is Melissa Meyer, who is responsible for Africa, and Sari Sawaya, who looks after the wider Middle East region. There’s no shortage of Jetcraft team members around these parts.

As the sun sets on a promising day here in Geneva, there’s no better way to celebrate than by catching up with friends and colleagues – and that's exactly what we did this afternoon. Thank you to all who joined us at our cocktail reception, i...

Jetcraft Avionics Names New Executive Director

Jetcraft Avionics Names New Executive Director

May 15, 2014 (Raleigh, NC) – Jetcraft Corporation, a global leader in business aircraft sales, acquisitions and trades, announced the hiring of Stedman Stevens as Executive Director of Jetcraft Avionics. Mr. Stevens’ responsibilities include supporting Jetcraft’s executive management team in a strategic advisory role and taking a hands-on-approach to the business and sales operations of Jetcraft Avionics.

Mr. Stevens’ experience of developing and leading technology companies will be an asset as he works collaboratively with Ken Elliott, who was recently named Technical Director of Jetcraft Avionics. Together, they will lead Jetcraft’s current growth effort in Enhanced Flight Vision Systems (EFVS) and other long-term ventures. The hiring will also allow Mr. Elliott to focus on more technical aspects of Jetcraft Avionics and guiding the company into new areas of project development. Q&A with Chris Hollingsworth

Q&A with Chris Hollingsworth

Chris Hollingsworth, Sales Director, Jetcraft

Location: Switzerland

[email protected]    +41 79 629 9168

How long have you been at Jetcraft?

I’ve been with Jetcraft for just over six years, starting off at our Raleigh headquarters in the US. I moved over to Switzerland around two years ago to join Jetcraft’s European office here in Zurich. Before working for Jetcraft I was the sales manager for refurbishments and maintenance at Gulfstream.

What are your responsibilities within the global Jetcraft team?

At its core, Jetcraft is a relationship-focused company. You won’t sell a single airplane if you don’t value relationships. I travel constantly to help build long-lasting relationships with customers, making myself available wherever my clients need me. I have experience in the both the US and EMEA regions and am adept at handling the sale of pre-owned aircraft between these two key markets. I also deal in new aircraft sales, having just completed ...

The Peaceful City of Geneva

The Peaceful City of Geneva

When it comes to Geneva, the word “peace” definitely comes to mind. This inherent spirit goes well beyond Geneva’s role in numerous international peace talks and its identity as the European seat of the United Nations.

What breeds this serene feeling as you walk throughout this idyllic city with an Alpine backdrop?

1. Lake Geneva

Yes, you’ll catch the hum of touristy boats whizzing along Western Europe’s largest lake. But there’s a reason Lake Geneva (pictured above) is such an attraction for all: it’s gorgeous.

Whether spotting its expanse from atop the Cathedral of Saint Pierre’s 157-step bell tower from this landmark’s Old Town hilltop, or walking along the lakefront to see the 140-metre-high Jet d’Eau up close, you will appreciate Geneva’s signature lake. Even better, rent a bike at Bike Switzerland to ride along the lake or take part in an organized tour.

The lake brings France within easy reach, so if you want to take advantage of Geneva’s p...

Best Practices in Bringing Aircraft to the US

Best Practices in Bringing Aircraft to the US

With a steadily improving US economy, aircraft values stabilizing globally, and companies with readily available access to capital, it is an opportune time to bring aircraft into the US at a lower cost, according to Jetcraft COO Peter Antonenko.

As aircraft make their way stateside, there are a number of economic questions that both a buyer and seller must answer: Who handles export from the current country? Who handles import? Who pays taxes and other delivery costs? What will be the arrival airport? For the right answers, it means working closely with the country of registration, FAA, Customs and Border Patrol, and the Department of Treasury.

“Where the aircraft is located and where it’s going, that’s where it starts. Then you can begin looking at paperwork and the next steps,” said Antonenko. “Filing a customs declaration, following the normal international arrival procedures, and hiring a broker are all parts of the initial process. Mishandling any of these steps can slow...

Challenger 300 Overview (2001 – Present)

Challenger 300 Overview (2001 – Present)

Overview including differentiating features from other aircraft in its category

The Challenger 300 is a mid-size business jet. It offers transcontinental range and long-range cruise speed in a typical eight-passenger cabin.

The cabin of the Challenger 300 fits eight or nine passengers in a double-club configuration (three seats can be swapped out for a 3-person divan, if desired). All of the passenger seats are fully adjustable and have fold-out tables and individual AC power plugs. Two-zone air conditioning keeps both the pilots and the passengers comfortable, and low-heat LED overhead lights (with a 10,000 hour life) give the cabin an open feel.  The 106 cubic feet of baggage (750 pounds) stored in an exterior compartment is accessible in-flight through the fully enclosed lavatory. A forward luggage closet can be added as well.

As of January 2014, the Challenger 300 market is comprised of 67% pre-owned. The percentage for sale is 5.6% with 84% under an exclusive br...

Fleet Sales: Breaking Down a Complex Transaction

Fleet Sales: Breaking Down a Complex Transaction

For companies and institutions that own a private aircraft fleet, there will invariably come a time when there is a need to sell. Whether it’s a multinational corporation looking to upgrade their fleet of Sikorskys and Challengers, or a US-based aviation services company aiming to sell their Citation 560XLs, fleet sales can come in any shape or size. There is no cookie cutter approach to handling these transactions.

Because each fleet sale is unique and entails a large scope of planning, preparation and execution, most aircraft brokers simply don’t have the knowledge or capability to handle these transactions. Each fleet sale involves a high level of trust, a wealth of experience and a unique ability to be flexible. It’s also the type of transaction that Jetcraft specializes in.

“We’ve been handling fleet sales for a long time, but these types of transactions aren’t something that Jetcraft started doing overnight,” explains Jetcraft President, Chad Anderson. “You have t...

Hong Kong – Tranquility in the City

Hong Kong – Tranquility in the City

Hong Kong is one of the world’s most densely populated areas in the word. With over 7 million inhabitants spread over 426sq miles, there is a good reason Hong Kong is known as the most vertical city in the world. Despite all the high-rises (there are https://www.aviewoncities.com/hongkong/manmotemple.htmover 1000 skyscrapers in HK) and the hectic city life, this international city also has a remarkably calm side. Our guide to Hong Kong is about taking time out, exploring nature and breathing in the many cultural delights this city has to offer.

The Victoria Harbor

Lets start at the water’s edge, as a trip to Hong Kong is not complete with out taking in the sights along the Victoria Harbor. There is much to see and enjoy along the harbor side but we suggest taking some time out to cruise onboard the Aqua Luna, the iconic red-sail junk (ancient Chinese sailing ship). Ok, it is not an original Junk but it has been created in the same way and offers a very authentic experience an...
